Instrument Panel (G2181034): Installation

    • Install the 2 A-pillar brackets.
    • Install and tighten the 4 screws.

    Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install the passenger airbag.
    • Install and tighten the 8 nuts.

    Torque  : 6.2 Nm 

    • Install the Head Up Display (HUD).
    • Install and tighten the 7 screws.

    Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install the instrument panel air vent assembly.
    • Install and tighten the 9 screws.

    Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install the air ionizer.
    • Install and tighten the 4 screws.

    Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install the hose.
    • Install the instrument panel.
  7. Install and tighten the 2 driver side instrument panel bolts.

    Torque  : 8 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the instrument panel 6 screws to the cross-car beam.

    Torque  : 8 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the instrument panel 4 screws.

    Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

  9. Install and tighten the passenger side instrument panel bolt.

    Torque  : 8 Nm 

  10. Install the instrument panel center speaker electrical wiring harness clip.
  11. Connect the electrical connector to the Head Up Display (HUD).
  12. Install the Instrument Cluster (IC) electrical wiring harness clip.
  13. Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the climate control sensors.
    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the passenger airbag.
    • Install the passenger airbag electrical wiring harness.
    • Connect the electrical connector to the air ionizer.
    • Connect the electrical connector to the sunload sensor.
    • Install the instrument panel upper grille panel.
    • Install and tighten the 2 screws.

    Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the instrument panel center speaker.
    • Install and tighten the 3 screws.

    Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

  17. NOTE: Make sure that all the clips are correctly installed.

    Install the instrument panel center speaker grille.

  18. CAUTION: Take care not to damage surrounding components.
    • Install the instrument panel assembly.
    • Install and tighten the 4 outer bolts.

    Torque  : 24 Nm 

    • Install the 2 guide plugs.
    • Install and tighten the 2 long bolts.

    Torque  : 40 Nm 

    • Install the 2 cover plugs.
    • Install and tighten the lower center cross-car beam bolts.

    Torque  : 24 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the front cross-car beam bolts.

    Torque  : 24 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the lower center cross-car beam bolts.

    Torque  : 24 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the climate control assembly bolt.

    Torque  : 24 Nm 

    • Install the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
    • Connect the 7 electrical connectors.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the 5 electrical wiring harness clips.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the 2 electrical wiring harness clips.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

    Torque  : 10 Nm 

    • Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    • Install the electrical wiring harness clip.
    • Install the bracket.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

    Torque  : 8 Nm 

    • Install the air duct.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

    Torque  : 4 Nm 

    • Install the rear floor carpet.
    • Install the clip.
    • Install the front floor carpet.
    • Install the 2 clips.
    • Install the passenger footwell vent.
    • Install and tighten the screw.

    Torque  : 1.2 Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    • Install the front center air vents.
    • Install the front left air vent.
    • Install the front right air vent.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

    Torque  : 6 Nm 

    • Install the steering column.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

    Torque  : 20 Nm 

    • Install and tighten a new lower steering column bolt.

    Renew Part: Steering column intermediate shaft lower bolt  Quantity: 1. 

    Torque  : 30 Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the 3 electrical wiring harness clips.
    • Install the driver footwell vent.
    • Install and tighten the screw.

    Torque  : 1.2 Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the footwell lamp assembly.
    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
    • Install the 3 electrical wiring harness clips.
    • Install the Instrument Cluster (IC).
    • Install the 3 screws.

    Torque  : 4 Nm 

    • Install the screw cover.
  35. Install the touchscreen.

    Refer to: TOUCHSCREEN .

  36. Install the driver side vent.

    Refer to: DRIVER SIDE VENT .

  37. Install the passenger side vent.

    Refer to: PASSENGER SIDE VENT .

  38. Install the clockspring.

    Refer to: CLOCKSPRING .

  39. NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.

    Install the A-pillar trim panel.

    Refer to: A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL .

  40. NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.

    Install the front treadplate.

    Refer to: FRONT TREADPLATE .

  41. Install the floor console.

    Refer to: FLOOR CONSOLE .

  42. CAUTION: The component(s) may be heavy. Take care when handling.
    NOTE:
    • This step requires the aid of another technician.
    • Repeat this step for the other side.
    • Install the front door.
    • Install the 2 bolts.

    Torque  : 13 Nm 

  43. NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
    • Connect the door wiring harness electrical connector from the body wiring harness.
    • Install the 2 door check arm bolts.

    Torque  : 10 Nm 

  44. Connect the 2 coolant hoses.
  45. Install the thermostatic expansion valve.

    Refer to: THERMOSTATIC EXPANSION VALVE .

  46. Install the windshield wiper motor.

    Refer to: WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR .

  47. Fill drain the cooling system.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING - ENGINE COOLING - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL.
