Parking Brake Release Actuator (G2174389): Removal

NOTE: This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  1. Connect the diagnostic tool and set the Electric Park Brake (EPB) to the maintenance position.

    General Equipment: Jaguar diagnostic equipment 

  2. NOTE: This step is only required if the diagnostic tool is not available.

    Activate the service mode function of the EPB.

    Refer to: ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE SERVICE MODE ACTIVATION AND DEACTIVATION .

  3. NOTE: This step is only required if the vehicle has no battery power.

    Activate the service mode function of the EPB.

    Refer to: ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE RELEASE WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS NO ELECTRICAL POWER .

    • Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor.
    • Disconnect the EPB connector.
    • Release the wiring harness.
  5. CAUTION: Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
