Hydraulic Brake Actuation (G2163191): Overview
The hydraulic brake system is a diagonally split, dual circuit system.
The hydraulic brake system consists of the following components:
- Brake pedal
- Brake master cylinder
- Fluid reservoir
- Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)
- Brake pipes and hoses.
The preformed rigid brake pipes distribute pressure from the brake master cylinder to flexible hoses via the integrated HCU and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module. The flexible hoses are connected to the front and rear brake calipers.
