ECM Adaptions
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Jaguar XJ, 2012 Jaguar XJ, 2011 Jaguar XJ, and 2010 Jaguar XJ. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The ECM (engine control module) has the ability to adapt the input values it uses to control certain outputs. This capability maintains engine refinement and ensures the engine emissions remain within the legislated limits. The components which have adaptation associated with them are:
- The APP (accelerator pedal position) sensor
- The heated oxygen sensors
- The MAFT (mass air flow and temperature) sensors
- The CKP (crankshaft position) sensor
- Electronic throttle
- Knock sensors.
