PINPOINT TEST B: Transfer Case Fluid Loss Tests

- B1: TRANSFER CASE FLUID LOSS TEST 1
- Drain the transfer case fluid and measure the quantity
Is the transfer case fluid quantity more than 100 ml below the specified quantity?
Yes : Install a new transfer case. Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, perform routines - Calibrate Clutch and Transfer Case Classification
No : GO to B2.
- B2: TRANSFER CASE FLUID LOSS TEST 2
- Remove the transfer case front output flange
- Check the transfer case front output flange splines for damage
Are the transfer case front output flange splines damaged?
Yes: Install a new transfer case. Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, perform routines - Calibrate Clutch and Transfer Case Classification
No: Re-install the transfer case front output flange. Ensure that the snap ring has engaged correctly by attempting to remove the output flange by hand. Fill the transfer case with the correct quantity of fluid.
