Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

    Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .

  2. WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.

  3. Refer to: OIL PAN - RWD (G1779629) .

    Refer to: OIL PAN - AWD (G1569239) .

  11. CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.
    NOTE: Make sure to use the aluminium lug provided on the timing cover to lever against.

    Hold the bolt with a magnet to prevent it from dropping.

    Make sure the crankshaft is at the timed position.

  16. CAUTION: Using a tie strap, make sure the tension is maintained on the timing chain.

  17. CAUTION: Use only a long torx socket or torx driver. Do not use a small torx socket, as it may damage the timing chain.

    Hold the bolt with a magnet to prevent it from dropping.
