Outer Constant Velocity (CV) Joint Boot (G1557132): Removal

NOTE:

  • LH illustration shown, RH is similar.
  1. WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.

  2. Refer to Front Halfshaft LH  (Removal). .

    Refer to Front Halfshaft RH  (Removal). .

  3. CAUTION: Discard the retaining clips.

  4. CAUTION:
    • Care must be taken not to damage the component.
    • Make sure that the CV joint is positioned as illustrated.

  5. CAUTION: Using a suitable soft drift, strike the joint in the area indicated to release it from the shaft.

  6. CAUTION: Using a suitable soft drift, strike the component in the direction shown to allow easy release of the retaining clip.

  8. CAUTION: Mark the components to aid installation.

  9. NOTE: Clean all the mating faces and reusable parts thoroughly and check for damage.
