Actuator Dynamic Brake Function (ADBF)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Jaguar XE and 2017 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The ADBF mode is used if the ABS control module cannot operate the brakes hydraulically, but still has wheel speeds available. The wheel speed inputs allow the ABS control module to adjust the clamp load on the rear brakes as necessary to produce maximum deceleration without locking the wheels. When the vehicle speed decreases to 2 mph (3 km/h), the ABS control module fully applies the EPB.

ADBF uses the EPB actuators to apply the rear brakes only, there is no hydraulic brake application and the front brakes are not applied.
