Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: Lifting .

    General Equipment:  Two-post lift

  2. Remove the rear silencer

    Refer to: Rear Silencer .

  3. Remove the left side and the right side under shields.

  4. CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.
    NOTE: Remove and discard the exhaust clamp.

    • Release the exhaust to catalytic converter assembly clamp bolt.
    • The exhaust clamp is spot welded into position and will require removal with the use of a grinder or a drill.
  5. Support the center exhaust section, remove the 4 bolts securing the exhaust cross brace. Then with assistance from another technician remove the exhaust center section.
    CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.
