WARNING: Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: Lifting .

General Equipment: Two-post lift
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
Remove the air deflector.
Refer to: Air Deflector .
Remove the left side and the right side under shields.
CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.

NOTE: Remove and discard the exhaust clamp.
- Release and remove the exhaust to catalytic converter clamp bolt.
- The exhaust clamp is spot welded into position and will require removal with the use of a grinder or a drill.
With assistance, support the exhaust system and remove the 4 hanger brackets.
CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.

- Remove the 4 bolts securing the exhaust cross brace in position.
- With assistance from another technician, remove the exhaust system.
NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Remove the exhaust hanger brackets.
- Remove the exhaust cross brace.
