Removal And Installation: Installation

NAS vehicles

Install the 3 exhaust sensors to the catalytic converter assembly.
NOTE: This step is only required if previously removed.

Special Tool(s): 310-121

Torque Specification: 48 Nm

Non NAS vehicles
Install the 2 exhaust sensors to the catalytic converter assembly.
NOTE: This step is only required if previously removed.

Special Tool(s): 310-121

Torque Specification: 48 Nm

All vehicles
CAUTION: Install a new gasket.

NOTE: Install a new exhaust clamp.
- Install the catalytic converter.
- Install a new gasket.
  Renew Part: Exhaust pipe to turbocharger gasket .
- Install a new clamp.
  Renew Part: Front exhaust clamp.
  
  Torque Specification: 10 Nm
Install the 2 bellyband bolts securing the catalyst converter to the transmission bracket.
Torque Specification: 25 Nm

NAS vehicles
- Connect the post-catalytic converter exhaust gas temperature sensor electrical connector.
- Connect the pre-catalytic converter exhaust gas temperature sensor electrical connector.
- Install the sensor wiring into the 3 retaining clips.
Install the catalytic converter upper heat shields and tighten the 4 bolts.
NOTE: This step is only required to be carried out on SULEV vehicles.

Torque Specification: 8 Nm

Non NAS vehicles
- Connect the pre-catalytic converter exhaust gas temperature sensor electrical connector.
- Install the sensor wiring into the 3 retaining clips.
All vehicles
Install the heat shield and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque Specification: 8 Nm
Connect the heated exhaust gas oxygen (HEGO) sensor.
Install the exhaust system.

Lower the vehicle.
Connect the battery ground cable.
