Description And Operation: Operation

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the output from the High Pressure (HP) fuel pumps to deliver the required volume of fuel at pressures up to 200 bar (2900 PSI).

The PCM uses the signal from the Fuel Rail Pressure and Temperature (FRPT) sensor to calculate the time the fuel injectors need to be energized to deliver the correct mass of fuel to the combustion chambers.
