Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    • Use only a plastic scraper when removing the sealing material.
    • Use lint free cloth.
    • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material.
    • Installation of the valve cover and tightening must be carried out within 7 minutes of applying the sealant.

    Apply two beads of silcone gasket sealant (Loctite 5901G or Loctite 5900) as shown on the illustration. The application of the sealant must be 1.5mm diameter 12mm long. Install the valve cover immediately after applying the sealant. The cover should be fitted directly to the head without smearing the sealant or the seals.

  2. NOTE: LH illustration shown, RH is similar.

    Install the valve cover.

    Special Tool(s):  303-1446

  3. NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

    Install the bolts.

    Torque Specifications: 13 Nm 

  4. G11286956

    Remove the special tool.

  5. Install the breather hose.
    1. Re-connect the electrical connectors.
    1. Install the bolt.

    Torque Specifications: 10 Nm 

  7. Install the fuel rail.

    Refer to: FUEL RAIL RH (G1557478) .

  8. Install the supercharger.

    Refer to: SUPERCHARGER (G1549762) .

  9. Re-connect the battery ground cable.

    Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
