Cylinder Head (G1550156): Installation

CAUTION: Clean and inspect the cam followers.NOTE: Note the orientation of the cam followers to aid installation.

CAUTION: Only use a plastic scraper to clean off the old gasket.
Clean and inspect the cylinder head and cylinder block.
Check cylinder head face for distortion, across the center and from corner to corner.
Torque Specification: 48 Nm

NOTE:
- Lubricate the cam followers with clean engine oil.
- Make sure the cam followers are installed in the correct orientation.

NOTE: The cylinder head gasket must be installed over the cylinder head to cylinder block dowels.

CAUTION: Apply sealant WSE-M4G323-A6 in a 5-7mm diameter on both cylinder head gasket notches as shown. The cylinder head and engine front cover must be installed and tightened within 30 minutes of sealant application.
- With assistance install the cylinder head.

CAUTION: Cylinder head bolts may be reused a maximum of two times only.NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.
Torque Specifications:
Stage 1: 7 Nm
Stage 2: 15 Nm
Stage 3: 45 Nm
Stage 4: 90°
Stage 5: 90°

CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.
Torque Specification: 10 Nm
Torque Specification: 50 Nm
Torque Specification: 10 Nm
