Front Driveshaft - AWD (G1578767): Installation

  1. Clean all the mating faces and reusable parts thoroughly and check for damage.
  2. CAUTION: Extreme care must be taken when removing/installing the front driveshaft to ensure no stress or pressure is applied to the A/C pipe. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the A/C pipe and/or joints.
    NOTE: A small amount of oil may weep from the joints during storage. The loss of this oil will not affect the operation or durability of the joint.

    • Compress the joints to engage the drive flanges.
  3. CAUTION:
    • The front differential joint must be tightened first and the transfer case joint needs to be tightened second.
    • Make sure that new bolts are installed.
    • The component must be aligned with the installation markings.

    Torque Specification: 40 Nm

    Install the heatshield but do not secure at this stage.
