Catalytic Converter (G1569061): Removal

WARNING: Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.

  2. Refer to: Engine Cover - GTDi 2.0L Petrol (Removal and Installation).

  6. NOTE: The cover is removed for clarity.

    Torque specification  : 35 Nm 

  10. G11424000

    Torque specification  : 9 Nm

    Torque specification  : 25 Nm 

  13. CAUTION: Make sure that the exhaust system is supported with suitable retaining straps.
    NOTE: Discard the clamp if required.

    Torque specification  : 55 Nm 

  14. CAUTION: Loosen the lower and rear retaining bolts no more than 5 turns each (do not remove the retaining bolts). This will aid installation of the catalytic converter.
    NOTE: Remove and discard the gasket.

    Torque specification  : 25 Nm 

  15. NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

    Special Tool(s): 310-121

    Torque specification: 48 Nm
