Thermostatic Expansion Valve: Removal

  1. Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Specifications information.
    2. WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the heater and evaporator core housing. Refer to Heater Core and Evaporator Core Housing information.
    4. CAUTION: Always plug any open connections to prevent contamination.
  4. Remove the TXV assembly.
    • Carefully cut and release the insulation for access.
    • Remove the 2 Allen bolts.
    • Remove and discard the 4 O-ring seals.
