Rear Stabilizer Bar: Removal

    WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear subframe assembly. Refer to REAR SUBFRAME - 5.0L information.
    3. NOTE: LH illustration shown, RH is similar.
  3. Disconnect the LH rear ABS sensor.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Release the 2 clips.
    • Carefully tie the harness aside.
    • Repeat the above procedure for the other side.

  4. Disconnect the electronic parking brake actuator electrical connector.
    • Release the electrical connector.

  5. Remove the headlamp leveling sensor link.

    6. NOTE: Use an additional wrench to prevent the component from rotating.
    NOTE: LH illustration shown, RH is similar.
  6. Release both stabilizer bar links.
    • Remove the bump stops.
    • Remove and discard the 2 nuts.

  7. Remove the stabilizer bar bushings.
    • Release the bushings.

  8. With assistance, remove the rear stabilizer bar.
    • Raise the suspension arms, to release the bar.
