Engine Lifting Brackets Rear
  1. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
  2. WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.

  3. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes (Transmission/Transaxle Cooling - V8 5.0L Petrol/V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol, Removal and Installation).
  4. Refer to: Catalytic Converter (Exhaust System - V8 5.0L Petrol/V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol, Removal and Installation).

    Special Tool(s):  303-1435

    torque specification: 25 Nm 

  7. Using the special tool, support the engine.

    • Make sure that the alignment mark is visible through the inspection hole on removal of the last torque converter bolt.

  21. WARNING: Make sure that the transmission is secured with suitable retaining straps.

    Using a suitable stand, support the transmission.

  24. CAUTION: Make sure that the torque converter remains in the transmission.
    NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

    • Install the torque converter retainer.
