Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

    NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.
  1. Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
    • Install new O-ring seals.
    • Tighten to 11 Nm.

    2. NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.
  2. Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
    • Install new O-ring seals.
    • Tighten to 23 Nm.

  3. Attach the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the retaining bracket.

  4. Attach the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the retaining bracket.

  5. Install the splash shield.

  6. Install the retaining bracket.

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the special tool.

  9. Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER - V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL (G1090386) information.
  10. Raise and support the vehicle.
  11. Install the left-hand engine mounting retaining nut.
    • Tighten to 63 Nm.

  12. Install the retaining bracket.
    • Tighten to 9 Nm.

  13. Install the left-hand catalytic converter heat shield retaining bracket.
    • Tighten to 22 Nm.

  14. Install the left-hand catalytic converter heat shield.
    • Tighten to 22 Nm.

  15. Install the retaining nut.

  16. Detach the steering gear.
    • Remove the cable tie.

  17. Install the steering gear.
    • Tighten to 100 Nm.

  18. Make sure the alignment mark, on the steering gear pinion seal protection cover, is central to the steering gear pinion casting.

  19. Attach the lower steering column.
    • Install the steering gear shaft pinch bolt.

  20. Attach the hose.

  21. Attach the wiring harness.

  22. Carry out a transmission fluid level check. Refer to Transmission Fluid Level Check information.
  23. Install the air deflector. Refer to AIR DEFLECTOR (G1569045) information.
  24. Lower the vehicle.
