Passenger Air Bag Module (G1005905): Removal

CAUTION: Do not manually open the registers. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the internal components.NOTE: If the registers are set to 'Automatic' mode and one or more are disconnected during an ignition cycle, a vehicle battery reset may be required to reconnect the affected registers to the LIN BUS.
Using the vehicle navigation screen, position the registers to open.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (General Procedures).
Remove the passenger footwell upper trim.
- Release the passenger side door seal.
- Using a suitable trim tool remove the instrument panel end trim.
Using a suitable trim tool remove the instrument panel trim finisher and disconnect the electrical connectors.
Remove the passenger fascia screws.
- Remove the passenger fascia.
- Disconnect the register electrical connector.
Release the glove compartment but do not remove at this stage.

NOTE: Make sure the glove compartment is supported when disconnecting the electircal connectors.
- Release the glove compartment bulb from the holder.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Remove the glove compartment assembly.
Release the A-pillar trim cover and remove the bolt.

NOTE: The A-Pillar trim has a center clip, as shown in the illustration.
Remove the A-pillar trim.
- Using a suitable trim tool, release the trim cover from the rear of the instrument panel.
- Remove the instrument panel rear bolt.
Remove the instrument panel screws.
Using a suitable trim tool, remove the drivers side register trim.
- Remove the protective cover from the instrument cluster trim.
- Remove the instrument cluster trim screws.
- Remove the instrument cluster trim.
- Remove the 6 center register screws.
- Disconnect the 2 register electrical connectors.
- Remove the centre register.
Release and tie aside the humidity sensor.
Release the air bag module earth harness.
Release and disconnect the air bag module electrical connector.
Remove the air duct front screw.

NOTE: The passenger side register air duct will need to be positioned asided to access the air bag module rear nuts.
Remove the air bag module nuts.

CAUTION:
- The attached animation must be watched before installing the air bag module.
- Do not use excessive force on the instrument panel when removing the air bag module.
Using the attached animation for reference remove the passenger air bag module.
- Remove the air bag wiring harness.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 clips.
