Splice Repair to Wire Smaller than 0.35mm2

To repair a damaged wire with a cross sectional area smaller than 0.35mm2 , it is recommended to use the smallest approved splice connector (red) and insert an additional wire with the wire being repaired into each side of the slice connector.

For each splice repair to a wire smaller than 0.35mm2 , an additional piece of wire (0.35mm2 or 0.5mm2 ) must be inserted into the splice connector with the wire being repaired to make the joint secure when crimped. When the wires have been crimped into the splice connector, all additional wire(s) must be cut close to the splice connector to make sure the additional wire is fully covered when the glue lined heat shrink sleeve is fitted into position over the splice connector.
