Symptom Charts

WARNING: It is not possible to CHECK the torque of a patch lock bolt, if the torque is suspected to be low, the bolt must be REMOVED/DISCARDED and a new bolt MUST be INSTALLED and torque to the correct value.
NOTE: If the module or a component is suspect and the vehicle remains under manufacturer warranty, refer to the Warranty Policy and Procedures manual, or determine if any prior approval program is in operation, prior to the installation of a new module/component.

Given the wide and varied nature of potential issues with the vehicle steering system, a series of symptom charts, pinpoint tests and additional diagnostic/remedial procedures are included throughout SPECIFICATIONS  For help in diagnosis of reported steering issue(s), refer to the following sections of the service information:
