Pinpoint Test A: Brakes Noisy

- A1: INSPECT BRAKE PADS
- Inspect the condition of the front and rear brake pads. Check for damage to any anti-squeal shims.
Are the brake pads OK?
- Yes: GO to A2.
- No
: CLEAN the front brake pads or INSTALL new front brake pads if necessary. Refer to: Brake Pads - Vehicles With: Standard Brakes
(Front, Removal and Installation).
CLEAN the rear brake pads or INSTALL new rear brake pads if necessary. Refer to: Brake Pads - Vehicles With: Standard Brakes (Rear, Removal and Installation).
Test vehicle for presence of brake squeal.
- A2: INSPECT BRAKE DISCS
- Inspect the brake discs for excessive corrosion, wear or disc thickness variation.
Does excessive corrosion, wear or disc thickness variation exist?
- Yes
: INSTALL new front brake discs and brake pads.

INSTALL new rear brake discs and brake pads. Refer to: Brake Pads - Vehicles With: Standard Brakes and Brakes Disc - Vehicles With: Standard Brakes (Rear, Removal and Installation).
TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : Vehicle is OK.
