Description And Operation: Introduction: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 2015 Jaguar XKR-S, 2015 Jaguar XKR, 2015 Jaguar XK, 2014 Jaguar XKR-S, and 2014 Jaguar XKR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

There are three variants of front seat, depending on market and vehicle specification: 10-way sport, 16-way luxury and 16-way performance. Sport and luxury seats have the same general appearance, but differ in the features they incorporate; performance seats have a unique appearance. The front seats are equipped with the following:

WARNING: Prior to removal of the front seats, and before disconnecting the front seat wiring harness electrical connectors (which includes the side air bag module electrical connectors), the battery ground cable must be disconnected and a period of at least 1 minute allowed to elapse. The same amount of care should be taken when handling and storing the seats as would be taken when handling and storing air bag modules.

For additional information, refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Health and Safety Precautions (General Information, Description and Operation).

The driver and passenger front seats, although almost identical, have some unique components. The front driver seat has a seat position sensor and the front passenger seat has an occupancy sensing system. In both instances the components form an integral part of the air bag SRS (supplemental restraint system).

For additional information, refer to: Air Bag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) (Description and Operation).

The rear seat backrests are conventionally trimmed over a wire frame with a removable center panel allowing access to the AJB (auxiliary junction box).
