Inspection And Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern
  2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of damage and system integrity

    VISUAL INSPECTION 

    MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL
    • Parking brake cable
    • Parking brake actuator
    • Brake caliper
    • Brake pads
    • Stabilizer bar drop link rubber cable deflector block
    • Fuse(s)
    • Wiring harness/electrical connectors
    • Check for bent/corroded pins
    • Parking brake switch
    • Parking brake module
  3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step
  4. If the cause is not visually evident check the system for any logged diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and proceed to the DTC Index, alternatively, verify the customer concern and refer to the Symptom Chart
