LH Steering Column Multifunction Switch
Check the LH steering column multifunction switch and all exterior lamps for correct operation as follows:
Off - All exterior lighting is off (except for vehicles installed with daylight running lights).
Side lamps - With the ignition switched on, side lamps, tail lamps, number plate lamps and other marker lamps required by local legislation are illuminated. The instrument cluster will also be illuminated.
Headlamps - With the ignition switched on this setting will illuminate the dipped headlamps in addition to those switched on in the side lamps position. The LH steering column multifunction switch has two positions to select main beam.
The blue headlamp warning lamp located on the instrument cluster will illuminate when main beam is selected.
- Pull the switch towards the steering wheel to the first position and release to flash headlamps.
- Push the switch away from the steering wheel to select main beam on, then pull back to return to dipped beam.
AUTO lamps - With the ignition switched on and AUTO selected, side lamps and dipped headlamps are controlled by a light sensor located on the front of the fascia. Also with AUTO lamps enabled, a windshield wiper detection system will switch on the side lamps and dipped headlamps if the wipers are operated for 20 seconds or more. When the wipers are switched off, the side lamps and headlamps will also switch off automatically after a two minute delay.
AUTO lamps with exit delay - The rotary collar features three positions to control the length of time the headlamps will remain switched on after the driver's door is closed. The length of time is varied between 30, 60 or 120 seconds.
Daylight running lamps - In certain countries there is a legal requirement to have the lamps on during the hours of daylight.
With the rotary collar on the LH multifunction switch in the OFF position, dipped headlamps, side lamps, tail lamps, number plate lamps, and where installed side marker lamps will switch on automatically with the following conditions:
- The ignition is switched on.
- The Jaguar Drive selector is out of the park position.
- The parking brake is not applied.
