Accessing the Vehicle
Check the operation of all the doors, door locks, child locks, bonnet lock, safety catch and alarm.
Use the Smart keys supplied with the vehicle to make sure the vehicle entry systems function correctly. This must be carried out for BOTH Smart keys.
Check the function of all the remote handset buttons.
Make sure the security system responds when the Smart key is brought into close proximity of the vehicle. On detection of the Smart key, the system will 'wake up' and access is allowed into the vehicle. On opening the door the vehicle electrical system enters the 'Convenience' mode.
Check that the following vehicle systems are now active:
- Memory.
- Seat and steering column adjustment.
- Steering column lock is released when the Smart key is sensed to be inside the vehicle.
- Interior and exterior lighting.
- Touch-Screen and audio functions.
- Message center.
- Cigar lighter and power socket.
Check that the emergency key blade is located within the Smart key handset. This must be carried out for BOTH Smart key handsets.
Using the key blade in the Smart key, check operation of the emergency key barrel and emergency manual locks:
- Check the emergency key blade locks and unlocks the emergency key barrel fitted to the drivers door.
- Use the key blade to check operation of the emergency manual locks.
This must be carried out on every door.
