During Road Test
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 2015 Jaguar XKR-S, 2015 Jaguar XKR, 2015 Jaguar XK, 2014 Jaguar XKR-S, and 2014 Jaguar XKR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Use the road test to establish that the Adaptive Speed Control system (ASC) operates correctly and will disengage quickly.
Check:
- A speed control set speed is able to be selected and adjusted using the SPEED ADJUSTMENT hard button (1 ) and accelerator.
- The distance (time gap) from the vehicle ahead may be adjusted by pressing the GAP hard button (2 ) on the steering wheel. The 'Follow Mode' telltale in the instrument cluster will illuminate and the message center will display the actual gap set when following a slower vehicle.
- The set speed is immediately cancelled (CRUISE CANCELLED) when using the CANCEL hard button (3 ), or the brakes (press the RESUME hard button (4 ) after each cancellation to return to the set speed).
- The set speed is temporarily overridden (CRUISE OVERRIDE) when using the accelerator.
- A 'Forward Alert
' hard button (5
) is installed on the lower outboard knee bolster switch pack: With the vehicle stationary, switch the feature on (telltale on). Press the GAP
increase button (2
) to increase the sensitivity of the alert to maximum. Switch off the 'Forward Alert
' (5
) (telltale off) so that the customer receives the vehicle with the switch set in this condition.
For further details of the Adaptive Speed Control (ASC) system, refer to the relevant section of the Owner's Handbook.
