Electronic Engine Controls - Overview (G1791747): Overview
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Jaguar XF, 2014 Jaguar XF, and 2013 Jaguar XF. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The electronic engine control system operates the engine to generate the output demanded by the APP sensor and loads imposed by other systems.
The electronic engine control system has an ECM that uses a torque based strategy to evaluate inputs from sensors and other systems, and then produces outputs to engine actuators to produce the required torque.
The electronic engine control system controls the following:
- Charge air
- Fueling
- Ignition timing
- Valve timing
- Cylinder knock
- Noise feedback system
- Idle speed
- Engine cooling fan
- Evaporative emissions
- On-board diagnostics
- Immobilization system interface
- Speed control.
