Parking Brake Release Actuator - VIN Range: G03446->H99999 (70.35.45): Removal

Carry out the parking brake cable tension release.
For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE - VIN RANGE: G45704->G99999
Drain the fuel tank.
For additional information, refer to FUEL TANK DRAINING - VIN RANGE: G45704->G99999 .
Raise and support the vehicle.
For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING (2003.5-09) .
Disconnect the parking brake release actuator electrical connector.

Detach the air springs.
Detach the fuel tank filler pipe.

Detach the muffler and tail pipe from the hanger insulator.
Install the special tool to support the rear subframe.

Remove the noise, vibration and harshness brace.
- Remove and discard the rear subframe front retaining bolts.

Lower the subframe to a maximum of 60 mm.

Remove and discard the cross brace retaining bolts.
- Reposition the cross brace.

Remove the parking brake release actuator retaining bolts.

Detach the parking brake release actuator cable.

Detach the parking brake release actuator cable.
1. 1) For right-hand side connector bracket:
  - Reposition the retaining tang.
  - Detach the parking brake cable.
2. 4) For left-hand side reaction bracket, detach the parking brake cable.

Remove the parking brake release actuator.
