Brake Pedal and Bracket, Brake Booster and Brake Master Cylinder: Installation

Install gasket to pedal housing assembly.

CAUTION: Make sure no pipes or cables become trapped when fitting the pedal housing assembly.

Install pedal housing to vehicle.
- Make sure pedal housing aperture is positioned correctly.
- Install and tighten nuts to 15-20 Nm.

Position cloth underneath master cylinder to collect brake fluid spillage.
Install brake tubes to master cylinder.
- Remove plugs.
- Connect and tighten brake tubes. Refer to BRAKE TUBE, HOSES AND BRACKET TORQUES for torque setting.
- Remove cloth from underneath master cylinder.

Connect throttle cable to pedal housing.
- Install cable to grommet.
- Install cable to pedal housing.

Connect throttle inner cable to pedal grommet.

Connect vacuum pipe elbow to brake booster.
- Install new seal.
- Connect pipe.

Connect low-level warning connector to master cylinder.

Install cruise control vacuum-valves, mounting bracket.
- Install and tighten bolts.

Connect stop lamp switch connector.
- Connect connector.
- Reposition carpet.

Connect battery ground cable. (IMPORTANT, see BATTERY GROUND CABLE for further information).
Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
Install engine compartment rear cover.
Remove paint-work protection covers and close engine compartment.
Connect battery ground cable. (IMPORTANT, refer to BATTERY GROUND CABLE for further information).
