Brake Pedal and Bracket, Brake Booster and Brake Master Cylinder: Installation

  1. Install gasket to pedal housing assembly.

  2. CAUTION: Make sure no pipes or cables become trapped when fitting the pedal housing assembly.

  3. Install pedal housing to vehicle.
    • Make sure pedal housing aperture is positioned correctly.
    • Install and tighten nuts to 15-20 Nm.
  4. Position cloth underneath master cylinder to collect brake fluid spillage.
  5. Install brake tubes to master cylinder.

  6. Connect throttle cable to pedal housing.
    • Install cable to grommet.
    • Install cable to pedal housing.

  7. Connect throttle inner cable to pedal grommet.

  8. Connect vacuum pipe elbow to brake booster.
    1. Install new seal.
    2. Connect pipe.

  9. Connect low-level warning connector to master cylinder.

  10. Install cruise control vacuum-valves, mounting bracket.
    • Install and tighten bolts.

  11. Connect stop lamp switch connector.
    • Connect connector.
    • Reposition carpet.

  12. Connect battery ground cable (IMPORTANT, see BATTERY CONNECT for further information).
  13. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  14. Install engine compartment rear cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER .
  15. Remove paint-work protection covers and close engine compartment.
  16. Connect battery ground cable (IMPORTANT, refer to BATTERY GROUND CABLE for further information).
