Odometer/Message Display

If a fault occurs, a driver warning message is displayed in message display. See Fig 1 . With most warning messages, a Red or Amber Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) will illuminate. If Red MIL illuminates, the vehicle should be stopped as soon as it is safe. The Amber MIL is for less serious messages. If trip computer CLEAR button is pressed once, current displayed message will be deleted. See Fig 3 . MIL light remains active. If more than one message is active, the trip computer CLEAR button must be pressed for each message. If problem still remains at next ignition cycle, message will be re-displayed. Numerous messages may be displayed.
