DTC P0203 & P1203: No. 3 Fuel Injector Circuit Malfunction
NOTE:
After each repair, clear DTCs. See CLEARING CODES/PCM RESET PROCEDURE
under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Turn ignition off and then on. Read DTCs to verify repair is complete. For DLC and PCM connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

- Turn ignition off. Ensure fuel injector harness and connectors are not damaged and connections are okay. Repair as necessary. If harness and connectors are okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect No. 3 fuel injector harness connector. Using DVOM, check resistance across fuel injector terminals. Resistance should be 15.6-16.3 ohms. If resistance is not within specification, replace fuel injector. If resistance is within specification, go to next step.
- On XJS, check for continuity of Black/Yellow wire between No. 3 fuel injector connector terminal No. 1 and PCM Red connector terminal No. 17. On all other models, check for continuity of Black/Light Green wire between No. 3 fuel injector connector terminal No. 1 and PCM control relay. On all models, repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, go to next step.
- Check for continuity of Black/Green wire between No. 3 fuel injector connector terminal No. 2 and PCM Black connector terminal No. 14. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, go to next step.
- Check Black/Green wire for short circuit to ground or short circuit to battery voltage at No. 3 fuel injector connector terminal No. 2. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, disconnect PCM Black connector. Remove PCM control relay. Reconnect No. 3 fuel injector connector. Connect DVOM negative lead to ground and positive lead to PCM Black connector terminal No. 14. Turn ignition on. If battery voltage is present, repair wiring as necessary. If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Turn ignition off and then on. Read DTCs. If DTC P0203/P1203 is not present, repair is complete. If DTC P0203/P1203 is present, replace PCM.
