Ground Voltage Drop Test

Fig. 3 Ground Voltage Drop Test:

1. Connect voltmeter between battery ground terminal and starter case end bracket, Fig. 3.
2. Voltage reading when starter is operated should be near zero.
3. Total voltage drop in starter circuit must not exceed 0.5 volts. If reading is high, clean and tighten all ground connections and check condition of ground strap.
