The rear hub bearings are set with a .002" pre-load on Sedan Range vehicles.

Special Tool JD 15 (Rear Hub Master Spacer and Bearing Tool) is not used for setting hub bearing end float on sedans in the way the tool is used on XJS and Ser. III vehicles.





JD 15 (Fig. 1) is used as a convenient base for mounting a magnetic base and dial test indicator used in calculating the size of spacer to achieve the required 0.002" pre-load. This procedure can be found in the Sedan Range Repair Manual, operation 64.15.14.


NOTE:
JD 15 is only used as a measurement base and does not need to be installed to the vehicle.
