Temperature Sensor (Gauge): Service and Repair

COOLANT TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTER

NOTE: The procedure described below should only be carried out on a cold engine.

Open bonnet and disconnect battery earth lead.
Slacken coolant reservoir cap to remove any residual pressure. Tighten cap.
Disconnect the supply cable.
Undo and remove the transmitter.

Clean the housing.
Fit and tighten the new transmitter.
Reconnect supply cable.
Reconnect battery earth lead.
