Removal (XJ6 & XJ12)
- Set front wheels in straight-ahead position. Mark this position on steering wheel and do not turn wheel again.
- Remove three screws securing lower switch cover and detach cover.
- Working from below, remove clamp bolt securing split collet adaptor ( Fig 1 ) to steering column. Loosen lock nut set screw lock nut 2 turns.
- Withdraw steering wheel, complete with hand lock nut, impact rubber bumper, collet adaptor, and shaft.
