Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Replacement .
  3. Remove the transmission fluid cooler lines from the retainer located on the radiator.

  5. Remove the transmission fluid cooler lines from the retainer located on the right side of the engine.
  6. Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
  7. Remove the transmission support. Refer to Crossmember Replacement - Transmission (2WD) .
  8. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (2WD) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (4WD) .
  9. Carefully lower the transmission to gain access to the transmission fluid cooler line fittings.
  10. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler lines from the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Replacement .
  11. Remove the transmission fluid cooler lines from the vehicle.
