Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Isuzu i-370, 2007 GMC Canyon, and 2007 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lightly lubricate the crankshaft rear oil seal lip with clean engine oil.
  2. Position the plastic installation sleeve supplied with the new seal to the crankshaft.

  4. Use the J 44215  with the J 8092  and a hammer to install the crankshaft rear oil seal into the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.
    • The spring side of the seal goes toward the engine
    • Ensure the seal is installed square
    • The seal will bottom out in the housing when fully installed
  5. Install the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement (RPO M30)  or Engine Flywheel Replacement (RPO MA5) .
