Installation Procedure

  1. Install the crankshaft balancer friction washer to the end of the crankshaft balancer.
  2. IMPORTANT: Remove the original bolt from the J 41478  and use a M16 x 2.0 x 165 mm bolt.
  3. Install the crankshaft balancer using the J 41478  .
  4. Remove the J 41478  .

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  6. Install the crankshaft balancer washer and NEW bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 150 N.m (111 lb ft) plus an additional 180 degrees using the J 45059  .

  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  9. Remove the EN 46547  (1) from the flywheel teeth.

  11. Install the service slot plug.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
