Crankshaft Balancer Installation

Tools Required

  1. Position the crankshaft balancer on the nose of the crankshaft.

  3. Press the crankshaft balancer in place using the J 41998-B  . See Special Tools .

  5. Clean the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.
  6. Apply engine oil to the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.
  7. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  8. Install the crankshaft balancer bolt.
    1. First Pass

      Tighten:  Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

    2. Final Pass

      Tighten:  Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 150 degrees using the J 45059  . See Special Tools .

  10. Remove the J 44214  from the engine block. See Special Tools .
