Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT:
When removing connectors inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector.
- The IPC
- Left seat belt switch
- Left seat belt switch harness connector
- SDM
- SDM harness connector
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the seat belt switch - left.
- Ignition ON, using a scan tool, verify the Driver Seat Belt Switch parameter in Supplemental Inflatable Restraints is Buckled.
- If the parameter is Unbuckled, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal replace the SDM.
- Install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal A and the low reference circuit terminal B. Verify the scan tool Driver Seat Belt Switch parameter is Unbuckled.
