Visual/Physical Inspection

- Inspect for aftermarket devices, such as tires, wheels, or radio frequency transmitting devices which could affect the operation of the TPM system. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories .
- Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious physical damage, or missing components, such as the valve stems, which could also effect the operation of the system.
- Inspect the tires for the proper inflation pressures.
- Inspect the tires for any use of sealants. The use of tire sealants can obstruct the sensor pressure sensing port and cause inaccurate tire pressure readings. If this condition is verified, replace the sensor. Refer to Tire Pressure Sensor Replacement (Snap In Style) .
