Disarming an Armed System/Silencing an Alarm
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
If system arming has occurred, it must be disarmed.
IMPORTANT:
Manually unlocking the doors does not disable the content theft deterrent (CTD) armed mode. Disconnecting the battery does not disable the armed mode however; the alarm will not activate when disconnected and will activate when reconnected. The BCM stores the CTD status (last trigger event) in memory.
To disarm the CTD system perform one of the following:
- Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.
- Unlock the driver door using the door key cylinder.
- Insert a valid key into the ignition and start the vehicle.
