Test Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. 2:  This step checks the air suspension sensor data parameter.
  2. 3:  This step tests for the proper operation of the circuit in the high voltage range.
  3. 4:  This step tests for the proper operation of the circuit in the low voltage range. If the fuse in the jumper opens upon performing this test, the signal circuit has a short to voltage.
  4. 5:  This step tests for a short to ground in the 5-volt reference circuit.
  5. 7:  This step tests the 5-volt reference circuit for the air suspension sensor.
DTC C0625 or C0630

Step Action Values Yes No

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the suspension position sensor 5 volt reference parameter in the data list for the air suspension control module.
Is the position sensor parameter within the specified range?
0.5-4.85 V Go to Diagnostic Aids Go to Step 3
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the air suspension sensor.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the suspension position sensor 5 volt reference parameter.
Is the position sensor parameter more than the specified value?
0.5 V Go to Step 4  Go to Step 8
  1. Turn OFF the ignition
  2. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit of the air suspension sensor and the low reference circuit of the air suspension sensor.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the position sensor parameter.
Is the position sensor parameter less than the specified value?
0.5 V Go to Step 5  Go to Step 9
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the fused jumper wire.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Test the 5-volt reference circuit voltage of the suspension position sensor.
Is the suspension position sensor 5-volt reference voltage greater than the specified value?
4.85 V Go to Step 7  Go to Step 6
6 Test the 5-volt reference circuit of the suspension position sensor for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .
