Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the heated seat switch.
- Test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the heated seat switch ground circuit terminal J and ground.
- If greater than 5 ohms, repair the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, use a scan tool to observe the Rear Heated Seat Module Rear Seat HVC Mode parameter. The reading should be Off.
- If not Off, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the switch signal circuit terminal G and ground. Verify the Rear Seat HVC Mode parameter is Back and Cushion.
- If not Back and Cushion, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the switch signal circuit terminal A and ground. Verify the Rear Seat HVC Mode parameter is Back Only.
- If not Back Only, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
- If all circuits tests normal, test or replace the heated seat switch.
