Circuit/System Testing

B1935 Left Rear Seat Back
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the (C1) harness connector at the rear heated seat module.
- Test for less than 10.4 ohms of resistance between the seat back supply voltage circuit terminal 3 and the control circuit terminal 1.
- If greater than 10.4 ohms, test the supply voltage circuit and the control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat back heating element.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the (C2, C4) harness connectors at the rear heated seat module.
- Test for 2.0K-300K ohms of resistance between the seat back temperature sensor signal circuit terminal 19 (C4) and the low reference circuit terminal 5 (C2).
- If greater than 300K ohms, test the signal circuit and low reference circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat back temperature sensor.
- If less than 2.0K ohms, test for a short between the signal and low reference circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat back temperature sensor.
- Ignition OFF, connect the (C1, C2, C4) harness connectors at the heated seat module.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the seat back heating element/temperature sensor.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 5.2 volts between the temperature sensor signal circuit terminal C and ground.
- If greater than 5.2 volts, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the rear heated seat module.
B2180 Right Rear Seat Back
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the (C1) harness connector at the rear heated seat module.
- Test for less than 10.4 ohms of resistance between the seat back supply voltage circuit terminal 6 and the control circuit terminal 4.
- If greater than 10.4 ohms, test the supply voltage circuit and the control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat back heating element.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the (C2, C4) harness connector at the rear heated seat module.
- Test for 2.0K-300K ohms of resistance between the seat back temperature sensor signal circuit terminal 10 (C4) and the low reference circuit terminal 7 (C2).
- If greater than 300K ohms, test the signal circuit and low reference circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat back temperature sensor.
- If less than 2.0K ohms, test for a short between the signal and low reference circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat back temperature sensor.
- Ignition OFF, connect the (C1, C2, C4) harness connectors at the heated seat module.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the seat back heating element/temperature sensor.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 5.2 volts between the temperature sensor signal circuit terminal C and ground.
- If greater than 5.2 volts, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the rear heated seat module.
