Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the stabilizer shaft.
- Install the stabilizer shaft insulators to the stabilizer shaft with the slit facing forward.
- Bend the stabilizer shaft bracket downward to close around the stabilizer shaft insulators.NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.IMPORTANT: Ensure the stabilizer shaft is centered before installing the bracket bolts.
- Install the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
- Install the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE1 and FE3) or Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE7) .
- Lower the vehicle.
